Neil had the pleasure of visiting Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination on a recent visit to Dubai for Arab Health Exhibition.

He’s been visiting Al Noor for a number of years and has been instrumental in setting up a ‘twinning’ programme to share ideas and best practice between Al Noor and the team at Derwen College in the UK. The two organisations, although working in different parts of the world, with different cultures, have a very similar ethos and mission – and it’s evident that the needs and aspirations of students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) are the same the world over.

We have some exciting initiatives in the pipeline to forge stronger relationships and to enable the students (and staff) to share their experiences and learn from each other. We’re also looking to undertake a study around the success of vocational training programmes and ‘what happens next’ when students with disabilities leave education.

Please get in touch if you have an experience to share.

Watch this space for future developments in this exciting international collaboration!
